Could you provide me some help?Hello All,
I have been trying to link data which is already in Visio in the external data section to a line graph. This way when the data is refreshed in Visio the graph data will also be refreshed. I have tried doing this like I would link data to any other shape but it only allows me to use the data in the data graphic and not in the actual graph data. This needs to be done in Visio 2013. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
Hi,
I have installed a Windows 7 Enterprise Edition X64 with IE9 and also Visio Viewer 2010.
If I am logged with a Domain Admin account, no problem, I can open VSD document but if I use a domain user Account, IE ask to download the document.
I click to download and IE ask again to download the document and IE loop on this point...
I have do some check and, when I use a Domain User Account, I don't see the "Microsoft Visio Document" ActiveX to the"Manage Add-Ons" of IE.
Do I have missed some point to install Visio Viewer for all users ???
Hello,
I have created a viso document (1) with different sheets containing flowcharts.
Now i copied an uml sequence diagram from a different visio document into a new sheet in document 1. That worked fine, but I cannot edit the sequence diagram in document 1. Visio says (translated from german):
"This UML-Shape exists on a sheet, that is not part of an UML-model diagram."
Is there any way to mix different diagram types in one document?
Kind regards,
Kai Hartmann
When I drop a swimlane shape(from basic flowchart template) into the drawing page, the CCF-Band doesn't appear and only the "swimlane"-shape is on the page(I mean whitout "CFF Container; "Phase" etc.).
Although, when I look into the event section in the shapesheet there are the following entries:
EventDrop: =RUNADDONWARGS("CFF14","/cmd=20001")
EventMultiDrop: =RUNADDONWARGS("CFF14","/cmd=20001")
I uininstalled and installed Visio 2010 Prof. again and again, but whitout success. That makes me crazy, especially because on my other PC everything is OK with CFF behavior.
I just installedWBS Modeler add-in for Visio 2010 (I have Visio Premium 2010 installed). The add-in works great for exporting a Visio WBS to .mpp, but when I import an .mpp file to a blank WBS Modeler document, I get a blank Element Explore Window, see attached screendump and no tasks, even though I have created several levels of tasks in my test .mpp file.
NB: I have Project Professional 2010 installed.
I reformated my pc. I need to reinstall my 2007 visio program. I have the product key but not the disc. My key is valid. I need to know where to go to put my product code in to reinstall. Please any help would be valued. Thanks Coach
Hi
I am trying to do something like this:
In Visio I want to show a map of the company campus. All the buildings have had a red dot added (by default hidden) and I want this circle to show on a specific building only when an employee, who is working in that Building, is selected in the associated SharePoint data.
I have added a map as a backgroud Picture, and drawn circles on all buildings and made them invisible. All the circles have been assigned a data field called "Building". I have then associated a SharePoint list, and linked the list to the circles.
What I need to do now, is to make the corresponding dot show when an employee is selected in the list. And then make it work in SharePoint.
Is this possible? How?
/Jakob
The drawing control can not display embedded CAD files.
When opening an existing drawing within the Visio 2013 drawing control, double clicking the object results in a System.AccessViolationException (HResult=-2147467261). Same result after opening the drawing e.g. drawingcontrol.Document.Application.Documents.Open(pathtodwg). The code works perfectly under Visio 2010. The cad file can be opened in Visio 2013 GUI without any problems. When copying the shape into the drawing control, the content of the file is not visible any more, but an empty frame.
Steps to reproduce this issue:
1) create new drawing, draw something (rectangle, circle)
2) save as .DWG
3) create a sample project in Visual Studio with a Visio 2013 drawing control
4) import the dwg from 2) into the drawing control (drawingcontrol.Document.Application.Documents.Open(pathtodwg))
5) have a look at some blury *something*
Additionally, when I look into the shape sheet, the Prop.CADDate.Cell.Value is "29.11.60823". Normally, there is a context menu when right clicking the object. But the sub menu (Convert) is empty.
Below you can see a comparison of the same visio file with a wmf image in Visio 2010 (left) and Visio 2013 (right).
Same effects can be seen using DWG/DXF objects.

Visio 2013 - Images are pixelated when inserted into drawing
Hello,
Am I correct in my opinion that the reverse engineering functionality is dropped in Visio 2013? Please tell me I'm wrong and how I should do it...
When using Visio 2010 to reverse enigineer a SQL Server 2012 db, I discovered that certain data types were not shown right in my data model. The data type 'time(0)' was translated to 'image' when using the odbc generic driver and it was translated to 'text' when using the generic oledb driver. Choosing the SQL Server driver returned an error telling that the driver is not compatible with Visio.
So I was pleased with the release of Visio 2013 because it came later than SQL Server 2012 and I thought they should be compatible now. Is this correct and how should I perform reverse engineer?
I need this bug fixed so badly. Please help.
