I need to identify the exact edition of Visio 2010 that has been activated via its product key. The office guid just allows to detect that some version of Visio 2010 is installed:

How about the Visio 2010 editions like Standard, Professional und Premium? How can they be detected programatically?
I would like to use Visio Brainstorming to organize topics in a top-down breakdown mode. It works very well for initial set-up. However, moving the topics up or down in the outline window does not seem to change their correlating outline number in the Excel file it is imported to. How does one get the numbering sequence to correlate to their position in the outline?
In other words, how does one change the outline number of a topic (change it from T.1.2 to T.1.4) prior to export to excel?

Greetings. I have win7 office 2010 but have removed Project 2010 and Visio 2010. Installed Project 2013 and Visio 2013. Visio crashes everytime I try to open a diagram or create a template. Have searched for solution. Tried all cominations of uninstall/repair. Can't disable bluetooth addin because I can't get to it (crashes). Tried to create regkey to disablehardware acceleration. No luck. All out of ideas. Appreciate any help.

I am trying to install Visio 64-bit on my Windows 8 system (updated from previous systems). I have Office 365 installed.
I get an error telling me that I have to remove "Office 15 Click-to-Run Extensibility Component" because it is 32-bit.
I cannot find it.

I am editing a Cisco shape master from one of their stencils that I have downloaded.
I want to overlay a text block to display more information directly on the front of the image that will scale up or down automatically with the scale of the shape when it is used.
I know that I have to edit the text transform section, but when I look at the sections available to edit I see that it is both checked and greyed. It also does not display into the shape sheet at all.
Why is this?
Has anyone used this yet? Are there any changes/improvements over the 2010 version?

I am trying to create a representation of my environment in Visio 2010. I have put in shapes for AD sites, but I cannot move them to where I want them. When I try top move them, Visio pops up a blurb "Shape protection, container, and/or layer properties prevent complete execution of this command." I get the same thing when I try to move the label of the AD site. I was able to drag the site shapes larger then drag them smaller and manage a move that way, but I can't do ANYTHING with label except change the size and format of the text.
I also drug an arrow shape into the drawing. It seems I can have it horizontal or vertical, but I can't rotate it other than that; there is no rotational handle with this arrow shape. I can rotate the AD site shape to whatever angle I want; why can't I rotate other shapes?
What do I need to do to set Visio to allow me to drag things to where I want them on the page?

Currently we are busy to deinstall Microsoft Visio 2010 Premium at all users and want to install Visio 2010 Standard, but we do not have the correct keys on our KMS server to install the standard Version. It automatically installs Premium.
Could you please tell me how we can update our KMS to install the 2010 standard version?
Can you install Visio Standard, if you bought Visio Premium ?

When I try to install Visio 2013, downloaded as a trial from the Microsoft website, on my Windows7 (64-bit) machine,I get the following error:
We can't install the 64-bit version of Office because we found the following 32-bit programs on your PC:
Microsoft Office Standard 2007
Please uninstall all 32-bit Office programs, then retry installing 54-bit Office. If you want to install 32-bit Office instead, please run the 32-bit setup.
I didn't want Office, just Visio. Can't we install Visio without upgrading the entire Office suite?
I hope someone can help, because I am completely stumped.
Just recently, when I open Visio 2010, the window that contains the actual shapes that you can drag to you drawing, has suddely lost it's scrollbar. If I expand the window sideways all the shapes show up, I just can't get to the shapes if they are in just one column. This is the same behaviour for any category I pick. I have tried repairing it, restarting my laptop, restarting Visio, closing all the shape categories, turning auto hide off and on. I would rather not have to re-install it.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
